The more stars, the more expensive. The star rating does not tell you the services the hotel can
provide although a higher rating usually means you can expect to get more services.
At the top of this page I show you a few hotels that I am familiar with and that I have had good reports
about from my traveler friends. Below those is a list of other hotels that I know of, and then a hotel
recommendation from me as well as hotel feedback from others folks.
FYI: If you have someone in Nanning that can book a hotel room for you let them do it because many
times they can get a better rate by negotiating the price for you.

excellent hotel for the money and the services.
It is located at No.1 Dongge road, downtown Nanning.

A single occupancy room starts around 341 yuan per night
(about $42.00 US). The rooms are air conditioned and have American-European style bathrooms.
Also a safe and small refrigerator. A bar and soft drinks are provided but are expensive, so buy those
things at the local markets around the hotel. A restaurant and karaoke club are inside as well. See
pictures below.

Yongjiang Hotel
I found this hotel very clean and quiet. The staff were friendly with a couple of
front desk staff able to understand English. Internet access was available and
connection quite easy. You can get free internet access in the bar in the lobby if
you buy a drink or a coffee. The morning breakfast in the dining area was both
suitable for Western and Chinese alike. I found it handy to Wal-Mart and other
shopping areas and would give it a score or 4 out of 5.
We held our wedding banquet there too and it all went off with out a glitch.

High-Class Hotel, 76 Zhonghua Road
Very near to the train station. I had a very pleasant two week stay there. The hotel was
booked for me by my friend and I paid 150rmb per night.(in 2006) I had a very clean
and comfortable room equipped with a TV, computer with internet access and a coffee
service. The hotel staff was very courteous and efficient. The front desk girls did not
speak english but the managers did and were of assistance to me whenever I needed it.
There is no food in the hotel but many places within walking distance from the
hotel.Occaisionally I took a cab to the V-Touch cafe for some western food. There was
also a bank close by where I could use the ATM machine. Friends advised me this was
not the best area to stay in, however I am not one to go out at night, after 10pm, and
so experienced no problems. I was very happy there and will stay there again when I

Hawaii International Hotel, 81 Minzu Road.
My fiancee booked the room at this Hotel, it was comfortable and
quite clean but there was little english spoken by staff and during public
holidays most facilities and services, such as laundry shut down.
The Hotel is basically set up fro Chinese businessmen and it is a little
difficult for english speakers. There was also no western style breakfast
food available when I was there, that may have changed by now. I would
choose another hotel when I return. Cheers

March Flower International Hotel, No. 50 Changhu Rd.
Very nice rooms, modern design.
Not in central of Nanning. There are some in the reception thats speaks
English. Nice breakfast. Price for double room is 328 RMB + breakfast
for about 50 RMB.

I went to this hotel every time I visited my wife in Nanning (her
pick). Very clean and comfortable for the price (around 150 yuan). Take
cash, they don't use international credit card !

China uses 220V outlets so if you pack any type of electrical appliance to use such as an electric
razor, hair dryer, or dog polisher you will need to take an adapter. (Did I say dog polisher?) Anyway
you can buy them at any store in the states that sell luggage or travel accessories. Wal Mart and
Radio Shack has them as well.
The 5 and 4 star hotels usually have a 110 plug in the bathrooms but nowhere else.
If you take a laptop and want to access the internet via local ISP numbers you will need to set up an
account with a provider before you go to China. This way when you want to plug into the hotel phone you
won't have any trouble. Here are a couple of websites that provide access in China:
