from a 13 year marriage in 1998 for reasons I won't bore you with here. For several years since then I had
been searching for a new wife with no luck. Because of this I decided to think "outside the box" so to
speak. In the past I had limited my travels outside the U.S. to European countries but have always had a
facination for cultures and languages of the Asian countries, primarily China. So I concentrated my spouse
seeking activities there. After several months of e-mailing many ladies I came across a very special one on
the Asia Friend Finders website, now (Chinese Friend Finders). We got to know each other as best we
could via e-mail and everything seemed to "click". In September 2002 I made the trip to Nanning, we were
married, and as they say, the rest is history.
But why the website...you ask? Couple of reasons. First of all I fell in love with Nanning during my first trip
(as well as my wife LoL!), and so had to learn more about it. During my research it occurred to me that
maybe I should share my information with others and thus help them with their visit(s) to Nanning.
I remembered that when I needed info., before my first trip, there were really no websites about Nanning.
All I could find were sites about Nanning's history and the usual hotel/travel agent stuff. Second, I had lots
of people start asking me about getting married in Nanning and what they should do. I felt this was another
good reason for my website. To offer information and help for those who can't get it or don't understand.
(The USCIS information is not always clear, I know for a fact).
So now you know a little about me but I must add one more thing. What my wife and I did is not for
everyone. It worked for us because maybe it was meant to be or maybe we both just got lucky. Who can
really know. If you do decide to marry in Nanning or in the U.S. I wish you only the best of luck and hope
your life turns out as good as ours has. It's not easy in the beginning but in the end the reward justifies the
time, effort, and money involved, in my opinion.
What are we doing now?
I work for an architectural firm and am continuing my studies in Mandarin (Some Cantonese).
Mei is continuing her studies of english and has a job as well.
Mei's son Jifu is attending the 6th grade and his English is improving every day. He can now speak three
languages. He likes video games, Japanese animated TV and comics, soccer, and is learning to play the
flute and maybe soon the guitar.
Mei's daughter Jing is studying in China.
We currently live (When we are not in China) in the great state of Washington, USA
